Pupils of Orchard Grove primary school have taken a tour of their new school while it is being built, ahead of moving into the brand-new building in September.

The children are temporarily based at IKB Primary School in Wellington, but once the new school is complete, they will move across to the state-of-the-art facility in Orchard Grove.

The class travelled to the new school site for a look around what will be their classroom, playground, field and football pitch. Seeing where they will learn and play made the children even more excited about the move at the start of the next school year.

Work is ongoing to construct the school building and the children got into the spirit, wearing safety equipment, having a go at building with custom-made blocks, and signing plasterboard that the team will incorporate into the structure as a memento of their involvement.
