August at Orchard Grove sees continued progress across the development, with work ongoing across a range of infrastructure, landscaping and maintenance activities.
The prolonged dry weather continues to have an impact on grass and wildflower areas across the site, as it has done in many parts of the country this summer. Maintenance teams are working hard to support establishment where they can, and we look forward to seeing these areas recover and come into their own as conditions improve.
Good progress has been made on roads and infrastructure across the development. Surfacing works are continuing, with sections of road already tarmacked and further work scheduled to complete the remaining areas. Gully cleaning has also now commenced across the site in preparation for the wetter months ahead, and the road brush continues to keep the road network clean and tidy.
The Civic Square is looking great following its successful official opening event in July. New benches and bins are now in place, and the team continues to care for the trees and planting to help them establish through the dry conditions. The flower beds have been doing a great job of holding their colour despite the warm weather.
Highfield Park remains a lovely place to visit, with the beehives active and the paths in good order. Work is ongoing to finalise the signage needed to open up the tree area for public enjoyment – we are looking forward to sharing that with you soon.
Infrastructure works in the employment land area are progressing well, with footpath works expected to complete shortly and further works to follow once surfacing dates are confirmed. Work to extend footpaths into newer areas of the development is also planned, which will improve access for residents.
Finally, as the development continues to grow, we would like to thank residents for their continued patience and support. With more families now calling Orchard Grove home, keeping the development clean and welcoming is a shared effort – please continue to make use of the litter and dog waste bins provided throughout the site.
