Work across Orchard Grove this month will focus on helping newly planted grass and wildflower areas to establish. The recent dry weather has made this more challenging in places, and we are working with our teams on site to explore what more can be done to support growth while conditions remain dry.
Water levels across the site’s drainage basins remain very low following the dry spell, which is to be expected at this time of year. Maintenance teams continue to monitor these areas regularly.
Good progress is being made in the newer parts of the development. Earthworks in Phase 2 have now been completed and work is moving forward, while a new retaining wall has also recently been finished. Work on the paths within the employment land area is continuing.
Highfield Park continues to look lovely as the planting matures, and recent tree works have helped to tidy up the area further. Work is also under way to permanently reinstate the crossing point from the main road into Highfield Park.
We are looking forward to welcoming residents and the wider community to the Civic Square open day on Saturday 11 July, from 11am to 2pm. The area is looking great and a few final touches are being completed ahead of the event – we hope to see you there!
Finally, we would like to ask for residents’ help in keeping Orchard Grove looking its best. Litter levels across the development have been higher than expected, and an additional litter pick has been carried out to address this. Please do make use of the litter and dog waste bins provided throughout the site – your support in keeping the community clean and welcoming makes a real difference.
