Autumn is a great time to think about how you get around easily and safely, especially before the evenings get shorter and the winter weather arrives, and Somerset Council’s Travel Plan Team is bringing two initiatives to Orchard Grove this month to help you do just that.
Free Dr Bike event – Saturday 19th September, 10am–2pm
Look out for the gazebo in Civic Square, at the top of Egremont Road, where the Dr Bike team will be offering free mini bike services on a first come, first served basis. Whether your brakes need a tweak, you’ve picked up a puncture, or your gears aren’t quite shifting smoothly, bring your bike along and get it road-ready.
The team will also be on hand for a chat about how you and your family get around Taunton, including how to make the most of your Green Travel Voucher.
To take advantage of the free service, you’ll need to have completed the short Residents Travel Survey first. Don’t worry if you haven’t yet, a tablet will be available on the day so you can complete it on the spot.
Residents Travel Survey – closes Saturday 3rd October
The Residents Travel Survey helps build a picture of how people travel to and from Orchard Grove, so the right sustainable travel options can be put in place for the area.
Anyone aged 17 or over in your household can take part, and it only takes a few minutes. Everyone who completes it is entered into a prize draw for £50. The survey is confidential, and a paper copy can be requested if you’d prefer not to complete it online.
