Spring signifies a time of new life and beginnings, and this is certainly the case on site this month. The land for the primary school has been transferred, which means that construction can soon commence – and this long-awaited project will start this month. It will be Somerset’s first net zero carbon school, with places for up to 420 pupils.

Recent rainfall has impacted on work on the Pocket Park, but this month the footpath will be created and some landscaping will also take place. There will then be a pause in landscaping until November, as the plants, shrubs and trees are native species that need to be planted in the correct conditions.

Elsewhere on site, building will start on the second culvert of the tributary stream, a footpath will be created going towards Horts Bridge, and demolition of the industrial estate will recommence. More roads will be completed and connected, linking up the road network inside of Orchard Grove and allowing access to areas where more new homes are under construction.
