As we head into Spring and milder weather, earthworks will ramp up to make the most of drier days. This means you will see a lot more soil exposed and machinery transporting earth around the site. Our work will continue on the drainage needed for the spine road that will run through Orchard Grove; we have already created 400m of this and the better weather conditions should enable us to make good progress this month.

We will start working on creating the attenuation basins, which are sustainable forms of urban drainage. When the weather is dry, these remain as shallow basins within the landscape. When the weather is exceptionally wet, they can take excess water, transforming into ponds and wetlands that allow the water to drain away naturally.

After planning approval was recently granted on the first Vistry Group and LiveWest homes, you will soon see the Vistry site team begin work readying the area for building, putting in roads and drainage. Taylor Wimpey will continue with the roads and drainage work started last month, prior to building the first homes.
