A new bus stop, with a shelter, has been installed at Orchard Grove and is fully operational, providing residents with direct access to frequent bus services connecting them to Taunton, Wellington, and surrounding areas.

This marks an important milestone for the growing community, offering convenient and environmentally-friendly public transport options right on the doorstep.

It is currently served by the 22 service which runs every 15 minutes using state-of-the-art electric vehicles, connecting Orchard Grove to the wider local area. The Somerset Bus Partnership initiative, delivered in collaboration with First Bus Somerset, provides access to reliable, environmentally-friendly transport options.

Park & Bus hub nears completion

While the new bus stop is operational, work continues on the final elements of the broader Park & Bus transport hub. Teams are carrying out final works to the parking area, and once these are completed, along with the legal transfer to Somerset Council, the local authority will make the facilities available to the public.

Development of the surrounding area is progressing well, with the remaining work expected to be finished by the end of the year.

Connecting communities

This project is about creating genuine links between Orchard Grove and the broader Somerset area. The combination of frequent bus services and good facilities shows the development’s commitment to sustainable living and bringing people together.

With the bus services now operational and the hub nearing completion, Orchard Grove residents can enjoy improved connectivity whilst contributing to a more sustainable transport network across the region.
