May brings a positive picture at Orchard Grove, with the site in good overall order and progressing well as we move into the end of Spring.

There has been significant emphasis on landscaping, with seeding, hydroseeding, and new planting in place across the site. The focus is shifting from active works to establishment and routine maintenance – a clear sign of how far the site has come.

Continued daily use of a dedicated road brush operating across the entire development has helped ensure the roads are kept in good condition. Dust and mud issues have been greatly reduced as a result, and the road network is clean and well maintained. Environmental controls across the site – including drainage basins, silt fencing, and surface water management – have all been inspected and are all performing well.

In Highfield Park, the heath landscaping is coming along well. Some areas may not look particularly tidy, however these are designated wildflower zones, and they are expected to come into their own as the season progresses.

This month, Orchard Grove is set to welcome its newest residents, with beehives scheduled for installation on 8th May. This is another step in supporting the natural environment and bolstering biodiversity – more information on this will follow soon.

The Civic Square is also looking increasingly impressive and an official opening celebration will be held this summer. The finishing works and additional planting, mulching, and seeding will continue to bring the space to life.

Overall, May marks a moment of real visible progress, with the focus now turning to monitoring, finishing, and fine-tuning as Orchard Grove continues to take shape.
